New Year Resolutions for the Family
Look at Your Schedule – Every year do you and your family say you want to do something new or try something different and never get around to it? This could be the case of having a schedule that doesn’t allow you to reach the goal. Try and arrange your schedules to fit in something new as a family, whether it is something small like getting up earlier or some new hobby you want to take up. If you are concerned about the financial aspect of your resolution, see where in your budget you can cut expenses to make it work without stress.
Acknowledge Progress & Don’t Strive for Perfection – Life happens – don’t stress out about when things don’t go as planned. Plenty of things can interfere and it’s important to give yourself grace not to expect perfection. If you find that you are closer to your goal than you were in the last six months, you know you’re making great progress.
Check-In With Your Goals – No matter what goals you set, you should sit down with your family consistently to discuss how your New Year resolutions are going. A lot of people tend to become lax only a month into the new year. Make regular plans to meet with your family over breakfast or during a weekend dinner to see how everyone is doing.
